Manila Water

Manila Water Company, Inc. (MWCI) is a subsidiary of Ayala Corporation and is the East concessionaire of Metropolitan Water Works and Sewerage System. Manila Water serves over 6 million customers in its concession area. Power Dimension Inc. (PDI), help Manila Water solve its problem and ensure the equal water pressure is supplied to each of its valued customers. The Marikina Demand Management project where PDI uses SCADA and wireless transmission system of reporting the water pressure in each of the five (5) Pressure Transmitter Sites, equalizes the water pressure in each area of service. SCADA or Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition generally refers to Industrial Control System (ICS). This is a computer system that monitors and control industrial processes like what is installed in the Central Station-Curayao for this project. Each of the five (5) pressure transmitter sites provides data and transmitted it to central station. Such data is necessary to control the required water pressure in each of Manila Waters’ customers, setting the water pressure high where the demand is greater and lessening it when low demand of water supply is determined by the device. Acquisition of data at any given time is readily available through this system. With this technology PDI uses, Manila Water became more efficient with the delivery of service to its customers while making it cost effective and taking care of the investments of its stakeholders.
